The Department of Defense has identified 3,758 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans on Tuesday:

CLARK, Lance M., 21, Lance Cpl., Marines; Cookeville, Tenn.; First Marine Division.

PAREDES, Javier G., 24, Cpl., Army; San Antonio; Third Infantry Division.

PHILLIPS, Sammie E., 19, Pfc., Army National Guard; Cecilia, Ky.; 138th Field Artillery.
